FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, MONROE IS SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR for its Pre-k 3 & Pre-k 4 preschool program. FUMC, Monroe Preschool is a Type I state-licensed program, and the director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the program, as well as being the primary contact with parents and the direct supervisor of all preschool staff. • WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY - Facilitated by Megan McClanahan and held in the Garden Room, will be studying Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out and Lonely by Lysa TerKeurst.
• MEN’S GROUP - will kick off January sharing their faith stories with one another. Join them to learn, explore, and grow in your faith. Held in Room 12 (Generation Hope Classroom).
• RISE LIFE (7TH - 12TH GRADE) - Studying Echo the Story 12. The youth will meet in girls and guys small groups upstairs in the youth room.
• CHILDREN’S CLASS (K - 6TH GRADE) will meet in the K2 Room.
• NURSERY will be provided for ages 6 weeks to 4 years.
PONYTAIL CANASTA GROUP will play Monday, January 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden Room for experienced players or those who want to learn. Plan to attend and invite a friend or two for some friendly competition and fellowship.
DISASTER RECOVERY RESOURCES FAIR will be held at the Monroe Public Safety Building, 1810 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Monroe Saturday, January 28, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Fair is for homeowners, renters and survivors of Louisiana’s March 2016 flood.

THE “FIX-IT TEAM” is a group that serves by providing minor home maintenance and repairs for persons in need. We have a list of projects and need help meeting these needs, and volunteers can help once, or on an ongoing basis. IT’S NOT TOO LATE to join the new TUESDAY LUNCH BIBLE STUDY at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays in the library. We will be studying Covenant, an in-depth group bible study in which participants read and discuss the Bible together, learning how to love God and each other better.
BOOK NOOK will meet Sunday, January 22 at 4:00 p.m. in the parlor to read The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Written in 1899, this compelling story is a classic of American fiction. Copies are available from Nancy Meinel in the Aldersgate classroom.
