TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY is looking for adult volunteer drivers to pick up Senior Adults, living in Monroe and West Monroe, on Sunday mornings so they may attend Sunday School at 9:30am and worship at the 10:50am church service. Currently, we have a church member in West Monroe needing a ride. If you feel called to provide this ministry to our older adults, please contact Nannette White Flowers at or 325-7335. 


THE PRAYER ROOM is now open. It is located in Room 18 at the end of the East Hall. This space is for you or a small group to have a small sacred space to gather for prayer time. 


WE ARE FORMING A PRAYER LEADERSHIP TEAM. This group will be prioritizing prayer for our congregation by setting prayer goals and mobilizing people to pray. Contact Olivia Pruett at the church office if you would be interested in serving the prayer leadership team.

•VOLUNTEERING: register to volunteer with art, food, games, music, missions, preschool, opening ceremony, decorations, or registration at 

•PRAYING: Please continue to keep our VBS and the children and volunteers in your prayers. That they might know God more through our VBS. 


IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE in a more in-depth study of our Summer sermon series, Meet the Goodpeople, please join one of the following Sunday school classes at 9:30 a.m. (Anna Gray Noe, Aldersgate, Friendship, Generation Hope, Oasis, & Sunshine). 


GRIEF AND OUR FAITH our special Sunday morning study will continue through the month of June. Lead by Marc Thomas at 9:30 a.m. in the south adult hall, Room 24. You are invited to join this study designed to help you understand your faith in times of grief. Contact the church office if interested.  


MAYHAW JELLY, blueberry jelly and peach salsa that our Senior High Youth made is available for purchase at the OWL salsa and jelly table located by the church office door. Jelly is $6 and salsa is $5 a jar. Proceeds benefit the United Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston. 


PONYTAIL CANASTA GROUP will play Monday, June 26 at 1 p.m. in the Garden Room for experienced players or those who want to learn. Plan to attend and invite a friend or two for some friendly competition and fellowship. 


WOW SISTERS will meet at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, for dinner at Portico’s. RSVP to Megan McClanahan. A date to begin a summer Bible study will be discussed.

BRIDGE MINISTRY ACTIVITIES (completed 3, 4, 5th grade) 

•Swim Party on June 28 at Mora’s 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. 

•CHRISTMAS IN JULY on July 5, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the youth room. Bring a bathing suit, towel, and shoes that can get wet.


INTERESTED IN JOINING FUMC MONROE? Our next First Connection Class will be July 30 at 4:00 p.m. in the church parlor. The first step to membership at FUMC Monroe is to attend First Connection. Call Linda in the church office & register. Childcare is provided upon request.


ONE WORSHIP SERVICE Sunday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. for our Patriotic Celebration! Sunday school will be at 9:00 a.m. Picnic following the worship service. 


50+ SENIOR ADULT VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL “The Word Made Fresh,” led by Ed Kilbourne, will be held here Aug. 13-16th . Registration brochures are located on bulletin boards throughout the church. For more information, contact Nannette White Flowers at or 325-1775. 


BOOK NOOK will meet Sunday July 30 at 4 pm in the Parlor to read A Separate Peace by John Knowles.  Autobiographical, this coming of age novel is set against the background of World War II.  Copies are available from Nancy Meinel in the Aldersgate classroom.


PROMOTION SUNDAY, August 20 for all ages. If you have a child entering Kindergarten please contact the church office and let them know their name. 


MEN AT WORK, our monthly men’s luncheon, will be Tuesday, August 29, at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Plan to bring a friend and join us!
