Angel Tree - Remember to return your Angel Tree gift to the church no later than November 30 to allow us to deliver them to Ruston on time. Do NOT wrap the gift, but enclose it in a store bag, with the card on the outside secured with tape or ribbon. This is your opportunity to share your blessings with residents of the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home.
OWL Salsas and Jellies will be on sale at the Tastes of the Season, November 29th. Proceeds benefit the UMC Children’s Home in Ruston.
The women’s Bible study facilitated my Megan McClanahan will begin a 3 week study “The Women of Christmas” starting Wednesday, December 2.
Plan to attend a church-wide reception Sunday, December 6 at 2:00pm in the church parlor to honor Denise Hardy who has recently retired as a full time member of our church staff.
Poinsettias, Christmas Beauty - If you would like to place a poinsettia in the church in memory or in honor of someone or would like to make a donation to Christmas Beauty in honor or memory of someone, you may do so by stopping in the Great Hall and filling out an order form. Poinsettias are $10 each. The deadline to order is Monday, December 7.
Life Share Blood Center has been rescheduled for December 6. The community has an urgent need for blood donations. Anyone age 16 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate. Please make plans (eat a good breakfast and hydrate) to give blood during this drive and help save lives!
“The Colors of Christmas” Ladies Luncheon will be at Blessings Bookstore, 2934 Cypress St. Suite 3, in West Monroe, on Thursday, December 10th at 11:30 a.m. The café has been reserved just for us and holiday favorites will be served. We will be singing “The Colors of Christmas” and enjoy entertainment and games. This is a Christmas celebration you don’t want to miss! Seating is limited, so RSVP to Nannette White with a check for $20 made payable to FUMC.
Remember - The Salvation Army has requested that we NOT WRAP our gifts for “Christmas for the Children” on December 13. They have to unwrap any wrapped gifts before they can use them.
The ULM Wesley Foundation is collecting winter clothes, coats, hats, umbrellas etc. for international students at ULM, many of whom come unprepared for cold weather.
