WE WILL BE COLLECTING CASES OF BOTTLED WATER to donate to the Desiard Street Shelter to hand out during the Summer. Cases can be brought to the church office during the week, or to the Fellowship Hall on Sundays before 9:30 a.m. and after 10:30 a.m. Cases of water will be collected from the church by the Shelter on Monday, June 12. 


MINISTRY OF H.O.P.E. (Helping Others by Praying and Encouraging) is looking for a male volunteer to visit a male member at Ridgecrest Nursing Home in West Monroe and a female volunteer to visit a woman at a Bastrop nursing home. Training is provided. If you feel called to serve in this capacity, please contact Nannette White Flowers at or 325-7335. 


GRIEF AND OUR FAITH is a special Sunday morning study during the month of May. Lead by Marc Thomas at 9:30 a.m. in the Garden room. You are invited to join this study designed to help you understand your faith in times of grief. Contact the church office if interested.


MALE CHURCH MEMBER is looking for a gentleman to room with on New York City Holiday church trip from Dec. 4-8, 2017. We’ll see the world famous Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, St. Paul’s Chapel, 9/11 Memorial, ferry to Ellis Island, Wall Street, Greenwich Village, shopping and a broadway show! BLOOD DRIVE sign-up sheets are in the main hall Sunday for the Life Share Blood Center blood drive happening NEXT SUNDAY, June 4 in the west parking during all three services. Please stop by the sign-up table and make the commitment to donate blood! Blood supplies drop during summer months, yet the need for blood never diminishes. Even if you don’t put your name on the sign-up sheet because you’re unsure when you’ll want to give, please make plans to give blood on June 4!!


BOOK NOOK will meet Sunday, June 11 at 4:00 p.m. in the Library to read Ann Petry’s historical novel, Tituba of Salem Village, based on the Salem, Massachusetts witchcraft trials of 1692-93. Copies of the book are available from Nancy Meinel in the Aldersgate classroom. 


90+ RECEPTION, Sunday, June 18, honoring our members who have been blessed to experience 90 plus years of life.  Be sure to stop by the parlor from 10:30-10:50 a.m. to greet these special folks!


INTERESTED IN JOINING FUMC MONROE? Our next First Connection Class will be June 25 at 4:00 p.m. in the church parlor. The first step to membership at FUMC Monroe is to attend First Connection. Call Linda in the church office & register. Childcare is provided upon request.


MEN AT WORK, our monthly men’s luncheon, will be Tuesday, June 27, at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Our speaker this month will be Kevin Nesbitt. Plan to bring a friend and join us! 


ONE WORSHIP SERVICE Sunday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. for our Patriotic Celebration! Sunday school will be at 9:00 a.m. Picnic following the worship service.
