Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, Rev. Malone will be updating the congregation on the happenings of General Conference, held in Portland, Oregon. Everyone is invited to attend.
It’s time to register for bible school and you can now do it online! Please go to the church website and look for VBS under the events tab to register! Bible School will be June 20-24 from 8:30-11:30 ages 4-5th grade. Of course we are counting on our awesome church family to help in any way possible! OWL Salsas or Jellies are available for sale on the table by the office for your Memorial Day picnics. Try the “Red, Hot, and Blue Jelly” over cream cheese. Salsa is $5 a jar and jelly is $6 a jar with proceeds benefitting the Ruston United Methodist Children’s Home.
Singles' group will meet for dinner at the Warehouse #1 at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31st.

“Good Ole Memories” Celebrators Conference, is Oct. 17-20th in Pigeon Forge, TN. Hear messages by Max Lucado, David Jeremiah, and Phil Waldrep; concerts by The Gaither Vocal Band, Michael W. Smith, Steve Green, and harpist Greg Buchanan; comedy by Dennis Swanberg; and worship music by Charles Billlingsley. We will depart after worship services on Oct. 16th and return the 21st. Approximate cost is $500 which will include conference registration, five nights hotel (double occupancy), breakfasts, and transportation. Family Promise of Ouachita is an organization that works with homeless families, and will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Chefs for a Cause, July 12th. We can partner with this vital ministry by bringing our gently used dinner & salad plates, flatware, including dinner & salad forks, teaspoons, and knives, pitchers for water, and 16 ounce Mason jars to the main church kitchen TODAY and next Sunday, June 5th. Sets are not necessary as individual pieces are fine. Our communion rail offering Sunday, June 5th, will be designated toward this event also. Contact Chris (325-7335) for more information.

Book Nook will meet in the parlor June 12th at 4:00 p.m. to read Alabama author Anne George’s Southern Sisters mystery series. Choose from one of the following: 1. Murder on a Girl’s Night Out, 2.Murder on a Bad Hair Day, 3. Murder runs in the Family.

AARP Driver Safety Class is being offered on Monday, July 11th, from 1-5 PM in Classroom #6. The Driver Safety Course teaches drivers (55+ years of old) how to boost safety awareness, refresh and improve driving skills, minimize crash risks, increase confidence, prolong mobility, and maintain independence. Most car insurance companies give a discount (up to 10%) for a certain number of years so contact your company about the discount amount and length of time the discount covers. Cost is $15 for AARP members (must provide membership number) and $20 for Non-AARP members and includes a guidebook to be used in class.
