10:00-10:30 a.m. Sunday School lesson
Sunday School meets at RISE every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This is a time for students to study Scripture in smaller groups divided by grade level. There are typically snacks, and once a month breakfast is served to the youth. There is also always time before and after to play video games, ping-pong, pool, or air hockey.
RISE Student Ministry has 3 different options for Sunday School classes:
7th grade – taught by Natalie Johnson, these students will be entering their 7th grade year in the 2016-17 school year. Having gone through Confirmation this past year this class has remained together to build community together. They are using the curriculum Re:Form by SparkHouse.
8th-12th girls – taught by Rhonda Neal, these young ladies are using the book Her: Becoming a Proverbs 31 Girl by Emily Cole to study Proverbs 31, digging into Scripture and discovering the kind of woman God has created these young ladies to be. Girls will realize that God has called them to be women of character, strength, diligence, obedience, and wisdom. Topics to be explored include: love for others, trust, diligence, wise decisions, anxiety and worry, speaking wisely, family relationships, and the right kind of guy to discuss what it means to live as a Christian woman in today’s society.
8th-12th boys – taught by Bill Willis and Blake Marchbank, these young men are walking through scripture together, having begun with Genesis and are now mid-way through Exodus.
